Our company provides athletic shaped males clothing that fits as it should. Most guys with a muscular physique have to take their shirts to a tailor for their clothing to fit properly. Our signature Tapered Fit shirt, fits like a bespoke tailored piece, but off the rack.
Tell us about yourself?
I used to work in finance and it was a problem that I used to face wearing shirts everyday. As someone who went to the gym and took care of myself I just couldn’t find clothing to fit me. So I created my own fitted shirt.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Be patient, keep working every day despite not seeing movement right in front of your eyes.
What problem does your business solve?
Our clothing is specifically designed for a v shaped athletic body. Our shirts fit off the rack so athletic guys do not need to take their shirts too a tailor in order for it to fit their physique correctly.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
Tapered was born out of my own struggles of trying to find clothing too fit properly. Off the rack clothing is shapeless and designed for everyone and no one. My inspiration was to change this as the fitness industry grew, more and more fitness brands were appearing but very few formal wear.
What is your magic sauce?
Our shirts were developed by leading tailors in the industry for over a 2 year period, they’re uniquely cut into a v shape with enhanced darts as standard.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
Our goal is to make the best fitted shirt on the planet. Our target market is currently athletic guys but on our journey we have found that even slim guys face this problem of off the rack shirts not fitting their body properly. The Tapered Fit Shirt will be the new go to fitted shirt for all men.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Our first huge challenge was in our second year of business. We saw huge growth in the first then our supplier went out of business. Which pretty much killed our business for 6 months and we had to start all over again. Lockdown was also huge challenge for us. At the time we only had dress shirts – which no one was buying. We had to pivot and release t-shirt and polos
