Kindoré is a London-based agency that specialises in placing childcare providers, French-speaking and bilingual nannies essentially with families in London and overseas.
Tell us about yourself?
I have worked in the legal service industry after moving to London from France but after a few years of hard labour and stressful days, I needed to find more purpose in my work.
I started working as a private teacher, teaching French privately and started working in the private staff industry.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
There’s this famous quote by Marcus Aurelius ‘what stands in the way is the way.
The piece of advice I would give myself is to turn obstacles into opportunities. And I think these last three years with the pandemic taught us just that.
What problem does your business solve?
We find high-quality childcare providers, French-speaking (I happen to be French) and bilingual at an affordable price. We’re also developing other services to help families face the wraparound childcare crisis.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
There are other service providers who deliver the same service as us but very differently. Childcare has been ‘uberised’ (which I find very sad)’, especially wraparound childcare.
We want to offer the same service but be more fair and ethical with our childcare providers, which means paying them fair wages.
What is your magic sauce?
There is no magic sauce, unfortunately.
We differ from the competition because we believe that for the childcare industry to be of high quality, and to attract the best profiles, childcare providers should be paid accordingly and be recognised for the hard work they do.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
We hope we can change the perception the industry has among the general public and professional childcare providers who very often don’t feel valued.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
Our biggest challenge, as for many UK childcare agencies, is Brexit.
We source French-speaking candidates and bilingual candidates (Spanish, Italian, German etc…) so for us, there is no bigger challenge.
