Craig Andres: The Perspicacity Life is a national locksmith marketing company connecting customers with the nearest geographically based locksmiths in the UK.

October 30, 2024

The perspicacity life is a locksmith marketing company, owned by an experienced locksmith. The aim is to connect customers with genuine local locksmiths anywhere in the UK, covering England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Tell us about yourself?

My name is Craig Andres. I was born in London but lived in Bristol my whole life.

I have been locksmithing since I was fifteen years old and developed a passion for this amazing profession very quickly.

It all started when I worked with a local locksmith for work experience and became a full-time employee after my GCSE exams. I then began a locksmith apprenticeship to train in the art of locksmithing. Over the years I honed my skills in all areas from answering the phone, engaging with customers, pricing various different issues, problem-solving lock and key work in residential and commercial, across Bristol and surrounding areas.

In this time period I gained all my locksmith exams with “the master locksmiths association” to go from student to advanced student, and then onto passing the full MLA BLI exam giving me the title of “master locksmith.” I am very proud of these achievements, especially as I was the youngest locksmith in the UK to achieve this.

I started my own locksmith business at the age of 20 in Bristol and I worked tirelessly to build my reputation, reviews and word of mouth, becoming one of the busiest and highest reviewed locksmiths in my Bristol.

I have also been involved with digital marketing for a very long time. This has been a learning progression for the last fifteen years for me. It all started when I searched for my locksmith business on Google for a keyword that I believed might be searched for. I was amazed I could not find my locksmith business; after going back 10 pages in Google, I finally found my business.

I then researched how search engines work, how I might improve my search engine ranking positions. In 2011 there was not as much information on YouTube as there is now. Slowly I worked on developing my skills in search engine optimisation, seeking best practices year on year to eventually be where I am today. Finally having the skill sets required to dominate in Google search engine ranking positions and having a fantastic, trusted network including web developers and PR specialists at my disposal.

I have completed a whopping 60,000 jobs successfully in my locksmith lifetime and specialise in off-site link building strategies to catapult businesses to the top of Google search results.

The Perspicacity Life is my new business combining my passion for locksmithing with my marketing skills to enhance the locksmith landscape for future years. We’ve seen a range of general trade directories, why not have a specialist source for the trained skill of locksmithing?

So Craig, what problem does your business solve?

The Perspicacity life connects customers with the best locksmith near you.

Most customers believe every locksmith covers all aspects of locksmithing and this is usually not the case.

Locksmithing covers a vast array of services and skill sets. For example: 24-hour, auto, emergency, garage door security, grills and shutter installation, key cutting, key safe fitting, post box lock repair, residential and commercial, safe, uPVC door and window lock repair and replacement, van security, window lock fitting or you may even be looking for your local locksmith shop for key cutting, specialist locksmith services and advice. As you can see most locksmiths are not going to cover this entire range of locksmith services, in fact most locksmiths are just one person small businesses.

This is where “the perspicacity life” excels as customers can not only find their nearest local locksmith, but a locksmith which offers the correct locksmith service.

The other problem tpl solve is that in 2024 it is much harder to get your local locksmith business the online visibility your business deserves. You may offer a great service, but customers can’t find you easily.

I can guarantee you are losing business to national locksmith companies in your city. What are you going to do about it? You will need to optimise your Google my business profile, create relevant website content, potentially overhaul your website, develop an off-site link building strategy to compete or dominate depending on the competition in your area or city.

This is all worth doing but you need results now and you will need a substantial budget and find the right company to help. SEO campaigns need usually at least 3 months to gather traction and will likely be ongoing or over a 12 month period.

Websites cost thousands of pounds and seo will be a minimum of £500-£1500 plus vat per month!! Pay per click advertising will also be costly, lucrative keywords can cost as much as £20+ per click.

Old tactics like directory link building and low-quality link building does not work anymore. Google is smart and in the long run this type of link building will do far more damage than good. I know all of this as I have achieved top ranking positions in Google for myself and a select few locksmiths in the UK in some of the most competitive cities.

The answer: Register your business today with “the perspicacity life” it only takes a few minutes. Add your business details, description and contact details. Pay using stripe and get your business listed instantly and start generating work locally. Please note this is a yearly subscription of £365 which works out at just £1 per day.
